I woke to thunderstorm. Lightning, crashing thunder.
By lunchtime, the sky was clear and blue with only occasional clouds.
Now, as I'm getting ready to go to dinner? Clouds have returned, wind is blowing, thunder is crashing again.
I had planned to make tonight my "off night" from walking. I might even make it an "off night" from leaving the hotel, and just go down and eat in the hotel restaurant. It looks like it is going to rain all day tomorrow, according to the forecast, so my Huntington Beach plans (walking down there, viewing the lake, reading and writing in the shade) will probably turn into "go sit in one of the bookstores and write, and then get dinner."
Then Sunday I drive to Pittsburgh. I've have altered the travel plans to get to Pitts a day early, but I really thought I'd be meeting up with an old college friend here in Cleveland tomorrow and didn't find out that was not true until it was too late to change plans. Which is fine, because I really do need a full "down day" that doesn't involve teaching, driving, or seeing other people.
