My thoughts are with the families and friends of all of those involved in the explosion of the Con-Agra Foods plant in Garner, NC. I've never been to the Garner plant (where they make Slim Jims) but I have done training classes on various topics for Con-Agra at other sites over the past year. I'm sure the people I know from the company's corporate office are beyond distraught at the moment.
It sounds like this was a completely unexpected event (as most accidents usually are). 38 people to area hospitals, four in critical condition with severe burns. Two confirmed dead, one person still missing as of the last report I saw. The past 24 hours have not been easy on the families, friends and emergency response personnel at the site. Part of the roof collapsed and there was ammonia spilling in at least one place, all of which hinders rescue movements.
