West Coast Untold Story
"Finally!" Tawni exclaimed as the cast of So Random! settled down from celebrating a sweet victory in hearing forced praise from the very lips of Chad Dylan Cooper on his own show.
"Something that actually has a plot line," she said in reference to the series that came on after Mackenzie Falls. "Now this is real drama."

"Mmhmm." Nico agreed quickly, causing Tawni to look over at him. She hadn't expected anyone else to like the show.

"I don't know," Sonny shook her head as she looked at the T.V. and then her two cast mates incredulously. "This show may be better than Mackenzie Falls, but it's still not great."

"Not great?" Tawni looked at Sonny as though she'd just said something foul. "This show has character depth that's not only entertaining, but realistic. Plus, the star, Johnny, is hot."

"Yeah, well…" Sonny started, but was cut off by Nico.

"And it cleverly balances the drama with sophisticated humor. Not to mention, the leading lady is fine," Nico and Tawni shared excited smiles and then looked at Sonny again.

Sonny conceded. After all, she used to watch Mackenzie Falls, so who was she to say that Tawni and Nico couldn't like this series. "Well, then, I'll let you guys watch in peace. I think I'll head home."

Grady had been too busy listening to say anything at first. He already knew about Nico's secret love of the show, but hadn't known about Tawni's. Now, he sat there, biting his cheek a little as he thought. "You know what," he stood to his feet. "It's not really my show either. Think I could get a ride?"

"Sure," Sonny answered graciously as he joined her at the door. Before they left, she whispered so that only Grady could here. "I saw you over there with your thinking face on," she poked him a little as she looked back at their two friends with a smile.

"Finally," Tawni said once Sonny and Grady had gone. She was glad to be able to watch one of her favorite shows without interruption, even if it was a rerun she'd seen multiple times.

"I know. And Zora must have gone somewhere too," Nico looked around to see the weirdest cast member was no longer with them either. "I still can't believe you like this show too though."

"Well, believe it," Tawni answered, not taking her eyes off the screen. "Don't tell anyone, but I even have the box sets." Sure, now that everyone knew she liked the show, it didn't make sense to not want anyone to know she also owned the box sets, but Tawni didn't want anyone to think she was an obsessive freak either.

"Me too," Nico gave a small smile before turning his attention back to the television. "Man, I hate this part though. Why doesn't she get that he's perfect for her?"

"I know right!?" Tawni shook her head energetically. "And why doesn't he get that she just wants somebody to accept her?"

"Exactly." Nico glanced at Tawni from the sides of his eyes. He suddenly felt as though he was missing something as crucial as the actors on the screen in front of him. But what it could be, he wasn't sure. He tried to take his mind off of it by focusing on the show. Without thinking, he began quoting along with the main actor, "'What do you mean you think you have a plan?
Either you do or you don't. We can't risk it this time."

Tawni had already been fighting back the urge to quote along with her favorite lines and, now with Nico doing so, decided to quote along with the lines of the main actress. "What do you mean this time? Do you think all of my ideas are stupid?"

Nico looked at Tawni in amusement and let his natural acting instinct take over as he started speaking the lines with just as much drama as if he were actually on the series. "Of course I don't think your ideas are stupid. Well, some of them are but…"

"Every time somebody says the word but they never meant what they said before," Tawni joined in Nico's fun as she turned and looked at him with an expression of fake hurt. "So maybe the stupidest idea was ever coming here."

"But Ava, I…"

"No more buts." Tawni finished as a commercial break started. She began to laugh hysterically and Nico applauded their performance. "We so deserve an award."

"Hey! Maybe we should do a sketch or something," Nico suggested.

"Ooh, that would be fun!" Tawni was excited about the idea, but her excitement was curbed as a commercial for the following week's Mackenzie Falls came on. She gave an evil look as Portlyn was shown purchasing a hot air balloon. "I hope she does get lost in it."

Nico noted her change of mood and turned to see what she was talking about. It didn't take long for him to join in her scowl once he realized what she meant. "Pfft, yeah. That's what she deserves for taking my chair."

"Don't you mean after you gave her your chair," Tawni raised an eyebrow skeptically.

"Well, yeah, I guess…" Nico stopped as he processed what she said. How did she know? She had already left when that had happened. She'd lost on purpose and then walked out. Right? "She tricked me with those great legs of hers," Nico finally finished.

"And that's why I hit her with Zora's catapult," Tawni hadn't meant to say it out loud and much to her embarrassment, Nico had definitely heard her because his head turned towards her with a jerk. "Oh look, a Blarmy commercial. Such an ugly name," she tried hard to pretend like she hadn't really said anything, but after a few nervous chuckles, she cracked under Nico's intense stare. "Okay, so I might have not actually left. I was watching from the hall. I only left for a little bit to find Zora's catapult."

"After I lost my chair to Portlyn?" That was the part Nico couldn't understand.

"Yeah, but just because you know, I…"

"Hate her?" Nico filled in the blanks recalling Tawni's statement earlier. She had said she could hate more than one person at a time. Tawni nodded uncomfortably a few times, but it slowly turned into a shake instead. Suddenly, the feeling of missing something returned, but this time Nico began to have an idea of what it was. "Why did you really come back with the catapult?" He asked, barely above a whisper. He wanted to hear it from her. He couldn't take not knowing for certain.

"I…" It was all that the usually confident Tawni could manage.

"Me too," and it was all the response Nico needed. He quickly closed the gap between them and kissed Tawni gently. As he'd hoped, and also much to his relief, Tawni kissed back, proving the reason she'd been so angry at Portlyn.

All of a sudden, their kiss was brought to a stop as they felt something hit them. They broke apart and saw that it was a piece of ham. "Zora?" Tawni looked over and saw Zora standing behind her catapult.

"No kissing in the prop house," Zora said, wagging a finger of disapproval before disappearing again.

"It's a good thing I like that catapult," Nico looked at it, not sure whether or not he loved it for bringing them together or hated it for having just torn them apart. "Or she'd come back and find it in a million pieces."

"And then later I'd find you in a million pieces," Tawni joked, as she scooted closer to him and laid her head on his shoulder. "And I don't think I'd like that."

"Me neither," Nico smiled and laid his head atop hers as they both went back to watching their favorite show.
