Google Bots FTW
This is where Tak gets to brag.
So, today, Centrus, my good friend, decides that he's going to do some shit to Alterity. Nothing has ever happened before, but this time he loses every topic for Main. Everything. So, he freaks, and freaks even more when he realizes that he can't get them back. At the time, I was doing my AoD post, so tough shit for him, I need to script and do stuffola. Okay, so that's a lie, I was being lazy. However, like Shikamaru, I finally got off my ass and took a look at the problem. After about a minute, I get the answer.
Google Bots.
Cached data of the forum. Everything that I need to get it back. So I go to the cached page and find the thread. That's the easy part. The hard part turns out to be getting said thread out of the cached data. So, I play with merging topics, bumping, moving (Which didn't work, oddly), and all sorts of stuff. Then, after getting desperate because every time I merge a topic it sucks the other post away, I get it. It's merging to the wrong topic. So I set up the topic in the forum, then I merge command with the new one. Seconds later, there it is. The entire topic.
Smart Tak feels smart.
So then I volunteer myself for fixing a few other things, and smart Tak turns into Admin Tak, and gets to play around with shit.
All in all? Damn FINE day. EC, AoD, then Admin fun.
