The not quite so good news--It is officially Friday evening, and I have not heard from the blood center--who said LAST week they would be making a decision by Friday, and then when I talked to them on Wednesday said that they would by THIS Friday.
The better news-- Chris has a second interview with a company he interviewed with a couple of weeks ago, before we moved over. This interview is with the founder and CEO of the company-- very promising! He also has another company that is a strong possibility.
The good news-- I am going for orientation with a company on Monday! I'm not quite as excited about this job as I am about working with the blood center, but I want a job, and this is a place to start. This company supplies workers to families and individuals who need care at home because of medical and elderly issues (not childcare) issues. Each client has different needs, anything from simple companion to housework to driving them to appointments to personal care but not complex medical care. I will make a decision about the job on Monday when I find out what the pay and benefits are, and how much work I can expect. I also did step 2 of the application process with Quest Diagnostics, a lab company... so we'll see if that leads to a potential job.
Today has been a hard day, despite not having done much.
Hopefully, we'll both have solid job offers by the end of December.
