So apparently Avatar: the Last Airbender, despite being set in an Asian world with arguably all Asian characters, has just had the core cast of its impending live-action movie announced, and they're all... White. And unknown. Apparently there were no Asian volunteers to be had. The points as to why this matters are summed up pretty well at this

I stopped caring when I heard it would be live-action. Then I laughed myself sick over Mr. What a tweest being allowed to direct.

Well, I was going to give it a chance--I generally enjoyed what few movies of his I've seen, and he's already been supplied with a fairly strong storyline. Much like Veji, though, I would have thought that what with him being Asian himself, he would have at least gotten an Asian cast for an Asian-themed world.
