been sick since thursday. damn. gosh i really hatee having the flu.
thursday my throat was feeling swollen and i couldn't swallow. kept having a dry cough. friday, the cough and throat got worse. saturday i started wheezing and the nose started running. went to see a doc. sunday, couldn't speak at all without phlegm getting in the way, was perpetually wheezing into the tissues. monday. still wheezing into tissues, but i can speak better.
i am determined to get well by tomorrow. please,. please by tomorrow, let my nose stop running!
realised i was pretty heatyy, so i have undertaken drinking weird chinese medicine drinks my mom's been making to cool myself down. pleaseplease i want to get well soon!!
well, life at home's been pretty relaxing, and i've been reading alot, since there is really not much to do, despite the wheezing and feeling like blehh. CS Lewis is a really gifted writer, haha i especially love his reasoning on how 99% of things we believe are believed on authority. in a sense that, we have never seen them, nor touched them, nor felt or experienced them, but we still hold them to be the truth. Take for example, that any atom of matter has protons and neurons and electrons. we believe this is so because scientists, with their complicated mathematical formulas, say this is so. Or that New York exists, beause reliable people around who have been there, say that it does exists, despite that i have never been there before. Here's the twist. An atom does not really look like the pictures of the atom that we've learnt. Rather, it can only be expressed as close to reality as possible by the means of a mathematical formula. Therefore, the picture of an atom is really just some semblance of reality, but it isn't the real thing. Scientists can't comprehend it, they can only hope to be as accurate as possible to the real thing, so in the same way, we cannot understand God, but we can only hope to strike understanding him as best as humanly possible. How can we, if we cannot even understand the atom, which he built?
Played alot of guitar yesterday, and i am hooked on Demi Lovato's Don't Forget. She does the accoustic in a rather cryptic, romantic, jazzy wayy which i am trying to emulate but failing miserably=( its like trying to imitate her VOICE note for note, impossible. she's got alot of those half notes, a quarter flats. hahaha. singing has gotten rather complicated these days.
anywayy, i am REALLY looking forward to malaysia. a few days away from this cosmopolitan, all too perfectly urban place that has grown to be my home. Malaysia will be developing urban, cool air, lots of greenery and mountains and hills. haha. looking forward to that. and of course, freedom! and nice exchange rate. hah.
