+ Interview for lit journal internship went swimmingly today, and I'll be working there as soon as I hear back from Retail Job and get that schedule. I'm actually rather excited about Internship, even though it'll be mostly administrative work like filing submissions and stuff--but that's something I've done before and enjoyed doing (in a masochistic, feeding-my-organizing-tendencies kind of way), plus I'm looking forward to meeting the writerly people involved. My hair also looks awesome today. Thumbs up to September 30th.
+ After several hours on the phone and exchanging the equipment three times at the store, my mom and I have successfully set up our digital cable boxes through Comcast. \o/ Our main TV now has the fun On Demand menu screen and it tells you what's playing on each channel and all that ... I swear, this is legitimately exciting for us. My family has probably the most minimal cable package you can get, so the frills feel especially frilly. The uptick in picture quality is definitely noticeable--I'm frustrated with how slowly it takes to flip between channels, though. I will have to rethink my channel-surfing strategies.
+ I liked Heroes this week. Wasn't expecting to, given the reactions I had heard from a few fandom and non-fandom people before watching. My dad made the connection the other day that Peter Petrelli and Jess from Gilmore Girls are the same person, and I think it blew his mind a bit, haha. Now he understands why I watch the GG reruns on ABCFamily whenever I can. :D
