A couple of Mohindiana Jones-verse ficlets.
Title: A Second Chance
Characters: Peter/Mohinder
Word Count: 354
Rating: PG
Spoilers: through the end of season 1
Summary: Peter thinks his fling with Mohinder has ended before it even began. Takes place before
Mohinder Suresh and the Quest for the Cure, though I think it can be read on its own merit too, as long as you keep in mind that this is an AU set in the 1930s in which Mohinder is a lot like Indiana Jones.

miss_miso, whom I have sorely neglected when it comes to answering Mohindiana prompts. My deepest apologies. This is for the pre-fic Peter/Mohinder prompt. :)
Peter doesn’t see Mohinder the day afterwards. He stops by Mohinder’s classroom in the morning, but the class must have gotten out early because the room is completely empty, sunlight slanting over the blackboard. Throughout the afternoon Mohinder’s office door stays closed, and Peter can’t muster the courage to knock. At home that night he lies in bed, staring at the ceiling.
It was an innocent kiss. Spur of the moment. As much of a surprise for Peter as it was for Mohinder, really. Mohinder’s expression afterwards had said enough, though, and all Peter wants to do now is apologize, return things back to how they were. With the Helix Foundation only barely getting off the ground, now is not the time to create unnecessary awkwardness.
He walks into the university the following day with these apologies on his mind, feet taking him to Mohinder’s office. No closed door will stop him this time. But he’s only halfway down the hall when out of nowhere a hand clutches him by the arm and yanks him sideways. For a few disorienting seconds he stumbles into darkness, the sound of a slamming door echoing over the shuffling of feet, and it’s not until his eyes adjust that he realizes he’s in the janitor’s closet. And a familiar man is there with him.
Mohinder places his hands on Peter’s shoulders, his eyes shining even in the dimness. Then he kisses him. When they part, Peter can only stare.
“I don’t know what this is,” Mohinder says at last, his voice thick and gruff, unlike anything Peter’s heard from him before.
“Me neither.”
“We can’t tell anyone.” His hands still dig into Peter’s shoulders. “No one.”
Peter nods. “Okay.”
Silence. Finally, Peter inches forward until their faces are close, Mohinder’s breath on his lips. “Kiss me again,” Mohinder says, and Peter does, until long after Mohinder’s class is supposed to start; and once Mohinder realizes the time and darts out of the closet tucking in his shirt, Peter slides down the wall to the floor, closing his eyes, wondering how he had ever expected to live without this.

Title: The Unexpected
Characters: Audrey, Matt, Mohinder, Peter
Word Count: 513
Rating: G
Spoilers: through the end of season 1
Summary: Agents Hanson and Parkman have unexpected visitors. Takes place after
Mohinder Suresh and the Quest for the Cure, though I think it can be read on its own merit too, as long as you keep in mind that this is an AU set in the 1930s in which Mohinder is a lot like Indiana Jones.

miss_miso, whom I have sorely neglected when it comes to answering Mohindiana prompts. My deepest apologies. This answers the prompt for more Matt and Audrey as well as for post-fic stuff. :)
The door opens, and Parkman pokes his head inside. “We have visitors,” he says.
Audrey closes the file she has been reading and scoots back her chair. “Who?”
“You’ll believe it when you see it.” Parkman beckons her to the door, and with a sigh, Audrey stands. As they leave her office and walk down the hallway to the lobby, she glances sideways at her partner. It’s not like him to pull her out of her office like this, especially when they’re so close to solving the Dahlheim case. “This better be good, Parkman,” she mutters, and they swing open the lobby doors.
Mohinder Suresh is the last person she expects to see, but there he is, rising from his chair at her entrance. Not since the Asanet incident has he made any contact with the FBI-not that Audrey is surprised, considering the way things ended. At his side is a man Audrey doesn’t remember seeing before. As they approach, though, his resemblance to the former New York senator comes into focus, and she realizes.
That’s Peter Petrelli, says Parkman’s voice in her mind.
She narrows her eyes in his direction. I’m not stupid, Parkman. Keep out of his head, he’ll know you’re prying. “Dr. Suresh,” she says, shaking his hand. He nods to her, jaw set firmly. “And Mr. Petrelli,” she adds, taking his hand in turn. “An unexpected visit.”
“For all of us.” Suresh is visibly tense, his fingers lodged deep into the crown of the fedora he holds at his side. He slides his other hand into his trouser pocket. “Is there somewhere private we can talk?”
The four of them head back to Audrey’s office, where Suresh and Petrelli sit in the extra chairs and Parkman leans against the edge of her desk. Audrey sits, placing the Dahlheim file in a drawer. Folding her hands, she waits.
Suresh and Petrelli share looks with each other. “You understand that we don’t come to you lightly,” Suresh says.
Audrey nods.
They exchange glances again, as though arguing with one another. After a moment, Suresh leans forward. “We’ve come across a situation that’s perhaps … a bit over our heads. See, a number of years ago, Peter and I encountered the mafia during a mission in Chicago. This, as you may expect, did not end well. Now it seems that our current mission will be placing us back within the mafia’s sights.”
“We’re hoping for a bit of extra protection,” Petrelli says. He sighs. “Basically, Agent Hanson, we need your help.”
Audrey straightens in her chair, trying to hide the smug smile pulling at the corners of her mouth. “Is that so?”
“I didn’t think someone like you needed protection, Peter,” Parkman says, eyebrow raised.
Suresh clears his throat. “Normally you would be right, Agent Parkman, I assure you. But this is a special case. The details will be explained later.” He pauses. “Do we have a deal then?”
Audrey sees her own amused look reflected on Parkman’s face as she turns to him. Oh, this is going to be interesting.
