So I made cookies tonight and in the style of my dear
boosette, have the recipe. Also known as, ohmigod that worked cookies.
Basically, I was making chocolate chip cookies and then realized I had no more chocolate chips. So I made the tollhouse cookies following the recipe but sans chocolate chips (& the nuts, ew who adds the nuts). Instead, I added peanut butter, chocolate syrup, and some extra flour and baking soda.
This is what came out:
Also known as, the most delcious ohmigod that worked cookies ever. Slightly chewy, golden brown, and just the perfect amount of chocolatey-peanut-butterynes.
(Obviously first bit is tollhouse but it's all ~convenient now.)
* 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
* 1 teaspoon baking soda
* 1 teaspoon salt
* 1 cup (2 sticks) butter, softened
* 3/4 cup granulated sugar
* 3/4 cup packed brown sugar
* 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
* 2 large eggs
PREHEAT oven to 375° F.
COMBINE flour, baking soda and salt in small bowl. Beat butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar and vanilla extract in large mixer bowl until creamy. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Gradually beat in flour mixture. Drop by rounded tablespoon onto ungreased baking sheets.
BAKE for 9 to 11 minutes or until golden brown. Cool on baking sheets for 2 minutes; remove to wire racks to cool completely.
So. What I did was after the stuff was all mixed, I added another 1/4 teaspoonish of baking soda, a big spoon glob of regular jif, and a generous lacing of chocolate syrup. I mixed that together, then added another 1/4 cup of flour until the mixture looked around the right consistency. Bam! My cookies baked for about eight minutes, but I made them on the small side. Once they turned that perfect golden brown, out they came.
