There was something about Hyde that was absolutely delectable to Gackt.
In all the vampire's time as an immortal, he had bitten hundreds. Thousands. Had tried to learn not to kill and, for the most part, succeeded, which opened up more choices for him, in terms of feeding. He had taken from all of his bandmates, past and present - had marked them to keep any other creature like himself from nearing them. Taken from his mortal family, when they had been alive. He had even taken from countless admirers and fans, though admittedly he had not allowed them to recall it.
But never in his lifespan had he encountered an individual as tempting as his lover. When he had befriended the musician, Gackt had done so to convince him to act in his movie. But Hyde had far exceeded what he had imagined, and it was with the greatest of ease that the two of them became close friends. It wasn't long before he had told Hyde his secret, and when, two days later, the man had allowed him to bite him, Gackt had found himself absolutely intoxicated. He had found it hard to pull away; the scent of Hyde's skin, the taste of his blood - he had proven no match to their almost gourmet quality.
And he had remained helpless to the call of that same man ever since. Even now, as lovers, he craved Hyde; it was not only his blood, though. It was so much more that kept him coming back and guaranteed the smaller man a lifelong partner.
It was the way Hyde - Hideto - would kiss him when they both were home for the night, leaning up to press their lips together like he had been waiting for that moment the entire day.
It was the way Hyde would give him the most beautiful smile when he was given flowers or chocolates, the way he would seem unsure of what to say when he was showered with the affection Gackt wanted to forever provide.
It was the way he would cup Gackt's cheek with a hand and tip his neck to the side, guiding his much older lover to the pale expanse of flesh and trusting him to bite down and open what with any other immortal would be a lethal wound.
But more than anything it was the way Hyde would not simply let Gackt love him - it was how, no matter what, that he would always return that love, give Gackt everything he was, as much as he could. More than anything it was the way that they both almost seemed to share the same soul.
Perhaps that was why he was so tempting, why he had been all along. Because he was the only mortal that Gackt had ever truly loved.
