Still, he supposes it was kind of You to call, though completely unnecessary. His best friend was attacked with two puncture marks to his neck, unconscious for days, and You's asking Hyde if he's okay? There's no need unless...Hyde's mouth goes dry and he has to sit down when the room starts spinning when the possibility springs forward in his mind.
Gackt couldn't have told You. If he had, You wouldn't be calling him to ask how he was, he'd be calling with death threats and curses dripping with rage. You would treat him with nothing more than disdain, disgust, and hatred, which Hyde's not about to deny that he deserves it because he does. So no, You might not know but there was something that had to prompt him to call. The answer is obvious, of course but Hyde's hopes rise too quickly at the prospect despite his rational protests. Gackt would be an idiot for forgiving Hyde - Hyde had no right to take what wasn't his and that's obvious. He stole, he murdered innocent people and that's wrong no matter how anyone looks at it. Even if Gackt forgave him for drinking his blood, there's still lying about who he is, not to mention the fact that he's not human. Maybe it's some twisted closure, the only kind that would make sense in Gackt's mind.
Hyde doesn't know, but what he does know is that he can't keep dwelling on this. The past three days have been his own personalized hell and he's quickly drowning in the guilt and despair that's suffocating him. He can feel those emotions swirl up within him in the form of quick short gasps for air. For humans, it would be a panic attack but it's only Hyde's human side flipping out and letting it spread everywhere; his darker nature doesn't seem to give two shits, still content with the bloodbath it soaked in three days ago. Hyde tries to breathe, 1,2,1,2 but it's not working too well. He shoots up from his seat and storms over to the door, ignoring the rush of dizziness overcoming him.
He needs a drink.
Ten minutes later, he's knocking on apartment seventy four, fist pounding on the wood so desperately until it opens with a bewildered Sakura staring at him. Hyde doesn't deny that he probably looks like shit but he's only got one thing on his mind and as terrible as it sounds, there's only one person that's not going to stop him or lecture him about it.
"I need a drink," Hyde tells him, completely honest about it. Sakura glances him up and down, eyebrows raised. Hyde knows he’s heard about the incident and is piecing together that Hyde's clearly not okay about it.
"It's not even noon," Sakura remarks but he opens the door wider and Hyde brushes straight past him towards the liquor cabinet he has stashed for parties and socials. Hyde flings it open, grabbing the bottle of whisky and not even waiting for Sakura to hand him a glass. He hears Sakura mutter something or another about manners but he disappears into the kitchen and there's a clink of glasses, but Hyde's so grateful for the strong burn swirling its way through him, he doesn't care if he drinks from the bottle or not - either way, he plans to have the thing empty.
"Thank god for you," Hyde mutters but if it's to the bottle or to Sakura, he's not really sure. Sakura returns with a glass, pulling the bottle away from his hands to pour Hyde a glass. Hyde fidgets, staring at the liquid making its way into the glass and just craving to finish it already, burning liquid be damned.
"Tetsu will get mad at me for supporting your alcoholic tendencies," Sakura says.
