Dalia walked down the steps of City Hall and over to a bench on the corner where she and James were supposed to meet. They hadn't made concrete plans - she didn't know where they were grabbing dinner or if they'd do anything afterward - but it had been a few days and they both wanted to see each other, so they'd agreed to meet ( Read more... )

A few minutes later, James walked over, having parked his car nearby. It was a nice enough day that unless they couldn't find something around here, he didn't feel like being cooped up in the car.

"Hey," he said, giving Dalia a smile.

City Hall was a mess.

The streets of Gotham...were getting cleaned up.

She didn't mention either, both for different reasons.

"Long." He smiled faintly. Then, though, he pulled out his wallet and offered her a plain business card. "She's getting some style."

Gotham Pier #4, 11 PM. He turned it over to show her the back, where the old-fashioned Bat Symbol had been drawn.

"Well, lah-dee-dah," Dalia rolled her eyes. And then, "Of course it was long...it's Gotham and you're a cop. Did you at least get in a lunch?" She said it affectionately, looking over at him with a concerned smile.

"Hey, I like arranged meetings rather than her usual coming up behind me act," James muttered, shaking his head. He put an arm around Dalia's waist lightly. "Yeah... managed a lunch at a cafe. Coffee always helps with long days."
