just say NO.

- a friend of my mom's who makes/alters clothes from her own home is depressed due to the slowed economy, and consequently is thinking about designing clothes for pets. that's creative pimpin' to the nth degree. i'm bringing my cat over for her to use as a guinea pig. one word - "tofubucat"

- during the past weekend's demo, an old dude looked at the front of my shirt "remember, they may have our oil..." and just kept repeating it to himself and laughing. he didn't even know or see the punchline on the back of my shirt. i was torn between finding the whole situation funny and being terrified.

- saying "NO" when people want to taste more and more tofu eggrolls... is what has taken me a year to master while demoing. when does "tasting" become "eating greedily?" i've already identified a few select people, alot of old folks actually, who just eat and eat. people come to the store actually expecting to feed babies on my samples. yes, it is painful for me to admit that alot of abusers are asians. yellow on yellow crime. i never wanted to be a strict demoer, but someone much younger than them needs to teach them respect. and some just resort to silently holding out their hand for a sample, or just pointing indiscriminatingly at my food. they might as well point to their gaping mouth as well. no, you're certainly not required to buy, but you're not entitled to eat either. if you begin to feel entitled, then i must begin to apply the tofu foot in your ass.
