how do you know when someone "likes" you?

Often, when people show any kind of interest in me (it ain't all that frequent) I take it the same way - that they "like" me, but sometimes they must just like me, but I can't seem to tell the difference, which could get me into a lot of trouble...

If people (OK, I mean boys) ask stuff like: Do I have a boyfriend? Where am I spending Christmas? How long am I gunna be around before I move away? ... then what am I supposed to think? But then I think well, perhaps they're just nice, perhaps they're just being friendly and making conversation? Thing is, with pretty guy, we had all these neat conversations about music and art and stuff, and didn't find it at all weird or awkward or anything talking with eachother, but didn't get onto anything particularly about us, and now he's asking all these specific rather than generalised questions and I don't know how to take it.

I'm not being all arrogant and thinking, 'well if he's asking me all this stuff then obviously he likes me' because I'm really not like that, which is why I'm trying to work it out now. Perhaps I am just reading too deep into all of this, I do that quite a lot too.

And then some of the questions are the type that you would be asked at the hairdressers, you know, 'going somewhere nice for your holidays?' and so perhaps they really are just inquisitive questions?

Grr, boys make my head hurt.

But I guess in a good way : )

(damn them)
