June 2009 Elliot Minor split from Warner Bros. Records and decided to release their second album through indie label Repossession Records.

Solaris was originally going to be the first single off of the album with the same name but due to problems with the format of the single it was decided the next single would be 'Electric High'

due to iTunes being down for many people the online sales for this song were not counted so they only reached number 120 in the UK charts.

The video showed the band performing on stage in the Newcastle Carling Academy as well as live footage from the June/July tour and backstage footage from the same time.

Elliot Minors second album 'Solaris' was released on October 19th 2009 featuring re recorded versions of title track 'Solaris' and 'Discover (Why The Love Hurts)'.



Solaris reached number 19 in the UK Indie charts.

They toured through June and July with support from 'The Mission District' and 'Fox Avenue'

then the Solaris tour to support the release of their second album with support from FranKo and Me vs Hero

2010-

February 21st Elliot Minor released another version of the single Solaris to be used in the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics.

The Japanese version of Solaris was released on April 21st 2010 featuring a studio version of the much loved by fans song 'Jacky Jules'.

During down time between touring the band recorded a cover version of the Owl City song 'Fireflies' and Ed Minton made a video for it using footage from the vlogs they film after the 3rd series of webisodes finieshed.

The cover version became so popular that Kerrang! Tv played it and it was soon picked up by many british music channels such as 4Music and Viva.

A free Download was available of the cover from the bands website

August 16th 2010 Kerrang! TV played an hour long special featuring live footage of the band from their previous tour.

August 28th 2010 Ali Paul sent a message out via the bands mailing list that once the tour had finished he would no longer be the keyboardist for Elliot Minor. He said his reasons were he wanted to try something that didn't involve music. All the band members remained friends and are often together Ali even joined Ed and Alex onstage to play a song for the acoustic tour.

On Novemer 15th 2010 Elliot Minor released their acoustic version of their album Solaris and a live DVD which had the footage from the Kerrang! Special on it.



This DVD/CD was only available through the bands website and if ordered before a certain date would be signed by Ed and Alex.

They started 2010 with the satellite tour with support from 'The Shower Scene'

They toured through June and July and played 3 shows in Japan

They toured in september

In november and december 2010 Ed and Alex did an acoustic tour to support the solaris acoustic album.

Elliot Minor will write and record their 3rd Album in 2011.
