Oh I hope Cuddy has it in her heart to sell Greg to James, and then her and Foreman can start over with a mind-wiped slave!Vogler lol ( ... )

Yes, it's all well and good that James is free now, but the mindwipe is done, and he's spent that time in slavery :( I always feel like that when someone wrongly convicted is released from prison many years later, that's something you're never going to get over. Tritter is, well, he's still Tritter :)

Glad you liked the bit with Foreman :)

Thanks for reading and commenting !

Wow. I did not see that coming at all. I thought Wilson's murder was probably euthanasia, and that his mercy for a patient had condemned him to mindwipe and slavery, but I like this much better. I thought it was very interesting how trusting House and Wilson are of each other here and how open about their feelings. Unlike in canon, these two have nothing to lose. I loved how dedicated House is to keeping Wilson safe. We know he tends to be selfish and I can't imagine what would happen to him if he were suspected of killing a free person, yet he intended to do it to protect James, if it ever came to that.

I want to know what happens next. I hope you post soon.

I was going to go down the euthanasia route - but I didn't think it was likely that even this society would condemn someone to a life of imprisonment or slavery for that. Glad you liked the way it went.

Will update as soon as I can, thanks for reading :)

Actually, in this universe, will James Wilson with his memory back think differently about slavery? They've got this arrangement where criminals are made into slaves. They don't care about their treatment of the slaves because of this truth. At least, so far as I can tell. Except for the kids who were sold by their parents. Hey, how about someone come up and say Greg has to be freed, because the man who sold him had no biological connection to him? There can't be many slaves, either, because they have to be kept isolated from each other.

Aside from that, beloved author, you have not shown any, ANY person anywhere in this story who felt differently. *grin*

Wah! Wasn't expecting the upheaval in this chapter at all! So how will a mind-wiped James function in the free world? And how is he going to come back for Greg? Even if he could 'buy' him from Cuddy (doubtful, yes?), Greg would still be a slave -- unless an owner can 'free' a slave? These are all rhetorical questions, of course ;)

I hope Greg and James aren't separated too long. *softly weeps*

ETA: I loved the "You knew I was a human being" line to Foreman. Tell it, James!

Very interesting rhetorical questions - maybe James won't bother going back for Greg ;) No, don't kill me! Just kidding :)

Glad you liked that line, thanks for reading !

Very interesting rhetorical questions

Oh wait, I have more! What if James just busts Greg out of that house, and they have to go on the run, fugitives from the law? Or, or: Vogler has mob ties ... What if he tries to exact revenge on them from behind bars? :o So many possibilities, this story could just go on and on and on.... ;)
