Our Halloween party on Saturday night went well, I think. It seemed like everyone had a good time and went home happy. We played Apples to Apples and went crazy and mixed the Bible edition with the secular edition. Madness! We are so wild and crazy. :) Attending were Humphrey Bogart and Ingrid Bergman, a sky pirate, a blackjack dealer, the Morton Salt Girl, an Aes Sedai, a Jedi, Little Bo Peep, an 80s rocker, and a Slytherin Chaser. We made shattered glass candy and candy blood slides and Lucas learned how to use the cobweb stuff.
This weekend we also took
amberdulen to see Sweeney Todd on stage for her birthday, and then
engelhardtlm1 got introduced to the wonders of Dungeoneering in Runescape. We played a. lot. of Runescape. We had a church potluck on Sunday and we watched
A Very Potter Sequel Sunday and a little bit this morning.
Oh yeah, and NaNoWriMo started today. I've got 2113 at the moment, which is a pretty decent first day. I wouldn't mind a few more words but frankly, I'm so tired from the weekend that if nothing else comes out tonight...*shrugs*
I'm pleased so far. I've only brought in two of the nine main characters, but I feel good about them. And boy, but it was nice to do Nira again. While I've changed a lot of things from the original story, I've kept some of it the same, and so far found a way to work in some small, unobtrusive references to the original things. I'm going to keep my eyes open for more opportunities to do the same.
10 days until my birthday! :)
