I volunteered for a meme over at ratherastory's lj wherin you let people ask questions about you and then put them in your lj. I am answering them but quite rankly I don't have time to come up with questions about other people, so if you want me to ask you stuff just be prepared that it will probably have to wait at least a week, lol.

Comment to this post with "THE VERY NERVE!" (that's all you need do to start, seriously!) and then:

  • I'll respond by asking you five questions so I can get to know you better.
  • You update your journal with the answers to the questions.
  • You can include this explanation in the post and offer to ask other people questions (but only if you want to).

1- What's the accomplishment you are most proud of?

I'm HOPING to be proud of an accomplishment on Sunday, lol, but ... ask me Monday how it went. Other than that, I was very proud of completing Snapdragon last year and meeting Nene Thomas. I'm proud of myself for going back to school, but it's so much work that mostly thinking about it just makes me happily tired most of the time, lol. I've lost 30 pounds since August - I'm proud of that.

2- What story lives in your head that you haven't written yet but that you are dying to write? If such a story doesn't exist, then what story that's already out there do you wish you had written?

Growing up my cousins and I were very close and had a lot of adventures. We consistently played 'pretend' over the years - we each had characters that we made up and no matter how long it was between times when we saw each other (6-8 months, usually), we always picked up their story right where it left off. Not only were the characters parts of us, they had an entire world we created for them to live in. I have always wanted to write down their story - if for nothing else than to at least preserve it for Ben, Reese, and all of our future kids. :)

3- Who was your role model when you were a teenager?

I was a really independent child, then pre-teen, then teen, and now I am an very independent adult. It's not that I never looked up to anyone, but I always made my own decisions and formed my own opinions about things, rather than model myself after another person in any way. I would say that probably the person that comes closest to being a 'role model' for me was my Jr high through High school Sunday School teacher, Holly Brown. I would put her at more of a mentor, though. She was easy to talk to and I trusted her with everything. I also used to babysit her kids and clean her house, so we were more like family by the time it was time for me to graduate. She helped me through a lot of rough times, and she always listened to me when my parents wouldn't. When I think of someone that I respected a lot as a kid, I think of her.

4- What are your living arrangements now? Do you rent or own? If you live with someone, do you both have a say in decorating your home, or does one or the other tend to have their taste dominate?

I live with my husband and we own our home. We bought it about a month after the wedding, and just in time too, because the market went to crap after that. It's a good starter house for a couple, but we'd be in trouble if we ever had a kid. (I use the spare bedroom as a studio for school projects, my etsy store and other things, and it is packed to the gills with Stuff.) When we first contracted to buy the house every room was painted a different color, and we LOVED it. We told them leave it just like that. Well, then the contract fell through for a few months, then by the time they called us back to ask if we were still interested, they had re-painted the whole thing white. So we spent the first several weeks getting it back the way they had it, LOL. We decorated together, but we have very similar tastes. Most of the art, photography, and woodwork on our walls are our own pieces that we've made.

5- Are you the type to have a really large circle of friends, or a very small group of close friends? Or a mix of both?

I have a large circle of close acquaintances/friends, but when it comes to close friends, I tend to cling pretty firmly to the few I know I couldn't live without. I am fortunate enough to have several close friends that I have known since pre-school, and no matter what states we all live in we are still just the same as we always were. There are about 5 people on this planet that know me better than I do, but Skype is probably my BEST friend. :)
