[entry code: Deary Diary]
Let's see...something...to...write...
Darnit. There's bit I want to write about, but all of it takes a while to get sorted.
*sigh*
Wow I'm bad at this. Okay, here goes.
So here's the thing: I've been telling myself (and probably "you") that I'd include links, images, and video when appropriate. Because I can do that. I can do that pretty easily even. I can just put stuff on photobucket and/or facebook, include links if necessary, cite resources...
Yet I never really do. It's just, all that takes so much EFFORT. But if I'm going to explain this next topic properly... Well, let's just start with an image first, shall we?
Allow me to introduce you to Tardis Souleater Quincy. ...I'm thinking of changing the last name's spelling to more obviously demonstrate a mixture of Code-Name:Fox's surname and mine. And I'd explain, but for the sake of internet anonymity. Tardis was my first suggestion, and :Fox liked it a bit too much to let it go. And his suggestion for the middle name was Souleater.
Here's a second picture, of when :Fox asked for "A picture of you and Tardy." Well...he isn't fully aware how much of a smart-aleck I can be, so, well, I had to. Ya know?
And this third picture is in case you don't see just how cute she is. She's a Russian Blue, pure-bred (this...was a bit of an issue between :Fox and I, but I finally consented - if I have to leave and somehow can't take her with me, than this greatly increases the likelihood of finding her a new family), though not from a 'show' line, which would have increased the cost even more. Even so, she was more than I'd like to have spent, and more than :Fox had said she'd be. ...so he absorbed the extra cost.
The 'Blue' in 'Russian Blue' should be evident here - I hope so, as it's an adorable picture:
Oh, lessee...she was born August 17th - exactly three months before me, so that's easy to remember. I researched her breed carefully, and I think she's a good choice (if you have to pick one breed, anyway). And she's adorable. But :Fox insisted that she doesn't sleep in the extra room but in the main room with me, so, I constantly have to bat her away for biting or sitting on my face while I'm sleeping.
Anyway, I think she's worth it. She makes me smile like no-one's business. You can hear it in my voice, if I can figure out how to get these movies linked to. They're both with boxes (I have another one with her cat-tower, but I can't locate it at the moment). When I left the box out for her, she'd climb into it of her own free will. Promise.
Not that I didn't help her *cough* - but I didn't HAVE to help her.
So, with all the babies and such, a new "cat" doesn't mean much. But she's here. And I wanted to share with ya all.
Here's the video...clipped so you don't hear the beginning: "I think this is the third time she's gotten in there..."
and my p.s.: The image-thing turns out a lot easier than I thought. Getting the photos from my ipad or iphone is annoying through a direct link, but I currently have it set up where I can e-mail them to myself. Easy. Then upload to my free photobucket account (which should itself be private). Easy. And livejournal now lets me upload from photobucket directly, and again, for free. Easy.
P.P.S. That first picture was not of me or of :Fox. That's the shop-owner, showing her to us before our purchase. Cats aren't common enough to keep in the better 'shops' - the shops are more like headhunters, with a list of breeders that they contact before they find you the right cat to adopt. So that's her at, um, 6 weeks? Just before I actually got in to Korea, I think.
