See, see the deed is done. The royal head is severed.

Well, today was my last day at work.  Not much got done by myself except cleaning out my office and the three computers I work on.  We had a wake/farewell luncheon at a local restaurant for callistotoni , myself, and the other fellow whose time it was to depart.  Our former CEO/now manager got a little dust in his eyes as he thanked us for our 13-14 years of work.  We all felt a bit weird.  When I finally left after all the out-processing/debriefing, it seemed like the few people left were lining up to say Good-bye.  I'll miss them.  We were a group of colleagues who got things done and not a business hierarchy.

Well as I said, it felt a bit weird.  Callistotoni took herself off to the barn to go riding as a remedy.  Myself, I came home and packed the vehicle to go camping this weekend.  There will be much munching of salumi and my part will be proffering sangria to all concerned.  On a related note, madbaker  and I intend to corral ysabella_dolfin in order to convince her to come into the City early some evening so that we may take her to Leopold's.  The combination of good salumi, good food, excellent beer, very easy-on-the-eyes wait-staff, and a very friendly, dare-I-say gemuetlich atmosphere would be an excellent bit of research for her in her endeavors.  (Besides, madbaker and I will have front row seats to it all.)

The following photograph was taken by learnteach a couple of weekend ago after an evening at Leopold's.
