Exercise: We hit the gym Friday night, and since I was still sore from the fitness test I only spent half an hour on the bike (175 calories burned.) It hurt just getting up and down the stairs, so I wasn't going to push it. Saturday was 2 miles grocery shopping, and last night was the elliptical for 30 minutes, 2 miles, 310 calories.
Miles to Rivendell: 440.3 (not counting the bike because, you know, it's not walking.) Sadly, so far I haven't even completed the Fellowship's first night of traveling.
The 'plimsolls of Rassilon' project I mentioned in
my previous post has hit a bit of a snag. I can't find
the shoes in my size at any of the Payless stores in the area, and all other brands of knockoffs I've found are at least $10 higher in price (and I specifically don't want real
Chucks, because then I'd have to remove or cover the symbol already on the shoes, which is in the spot where I want to apply
the symbol.) I've resigned myself to ordering them online, which I don't particularly like doing as I'd rather try them on and confirm that I really am a 6.5 in men's size.* Unfortunately the website says the following when I try to buy them: "The Airwalk Canvas High Kick in your Shopping Bag will experience an additional processing delay." Hurrumph to that. I'm waiting another day or two, and then I'll probably just cave and get them despite the delay. /sigh
In other news, taxes were filed awhile back and the amount due completely paid. To my amusement,
Papa John's has a special for today that costs $10.40. LOL
Also, neat:
The Museum of Scientifically Accurate Fabric Brain Art Lastly, I'm testing out a nifty new trick
as referenced by John Scalzi. The site called Imeem lets you embed music, and I thought I'd share a song I'm particularly fond of at the moment. If they have enough of the stuff I like, perhaps I"ll keep this up and put one in each post (or at least include a song a few times a week.) This is
Triniti, from their self-titled and only album (they broke up last year, so no more.)
* The best I've been able to do is print out their
measuring thing and stand on it.
