Gearing up for the weekend
As this will be the first weekend that Tasha will be with me again. That whole prior fiasco turned into another no-show the last time. But, things have settled down lately, and they'll be here around six.
While I do have a playoff-game to watch yet tonight (about freakin' time they show the Pistons *sulks*) I also have a couple of movies rented to keep us entertained, as the weather will be (predictably) crappy by late this evening. AVP: Requiem, and Cloverfield.
I wish the weather would be better. The last couple of days have been absolutely stunning. Today, we're in the high 70s, sunny, comfortable breeze. But we have a line of storms and a cold front pushing through from the other side of Lake Michigan. By tomorrow, it's expected to be gusty and cool. Like low to mid 50s cool. *middle finger to the weather* Matter of fact, we have snow in the weather predictions for next week... WTF? Um... Almost May. Snow and tulips don't mix. The poor things will all be dead before the Tulip Time Festival hits.
Speaking of tulips, I took a couple of pics on the way back from the video store. These are at the corner of my block on the parade route.
They'll be crumpled and colorless by this time next week...
EDIT: Now that I look at those... geez, what an ugly contrast! The grass is still dead! >_<
Checked the current temps. It's 81 freakin' degrees... and we're getting snow next week?!
Oh, and on Rich and work. That's where he's at. He had to leave this morning around quarter to eight to drive to Grand Rapids for the orientation. He arrived back in Holland around 11:30-ish, and went straight over to the store, where he'll be working until seven. Already on the clock! ^_^ Although, that doesn't say much. I had to drive to the bank before picking the kids up from school this afternoon. My bank is right next door to Valvoline. And as I'm sitting at the ATM, I glance over, and there are the three on duty employees - including Rich - sitting on the ground behind the facility... talking and smoking.
Man, I got jipped with Goodwill! :p
