Breaking News sort of

Ok, I am sittign in a restaurant called "farmer's". I sit down and order my food and I hear english being spoken across from where I am sitting. I am in shock and start to listen because enlgish is comforting when you don't hear it for awhile.

I listen to two people talk for an hour and a half. One guy is from a UK Division of a company and the other guy is HIGH UP in the US Division of the same company. I was half paying attention as they were discussing business decisions on where they need to go and who they need to fire until they mentioned making a wii game. Well, I instantly perked up and started hanging on their every word. Here is what I remember as of now,
At this point, they discuss the saturation in the market of mini games and the fact that no one wants to buy them anymore due to an extreme amount of poor quality out there.

We have a less than fifty percent rate of hit games, that is games that make us money. There is no reason why we are in business with that low of a percentage. If it wasn't for "mama" we would not be operating today. What we need to do is set up an "independent company" out of Europe seperate from the US Division. To do that you would need $4 million dollars to cover the management costs fo the project from beginning to end. Our company just doesn't have it. The only bread and butter we have is "mama" (I am not sure if he is referring to cooking mama).

You can't get the investors to invest $4 nillion right now because the market isn't stable for video games. So, in the next six months a big decision will have to be made. Do we stick it out in Europe and hope for it to get better? If we do it will be a long time for the turnaround. Or do we shut the doors in the Europe office and move everything to the US? Or since we can't get $4 million together anywhere in the company do we sell?

The other guy asked about licensing.....

The problem with licensing is this, you aren't guaranteed to get a return on investment. Look at Beyonce, there was so much negative feedback from it that it greatly affected sales. How much was she paid? Could they have done it cheaper or was it even worth it? What we need to do is focus on a mid tier game.

There was more to it that I will post but I want to ge this portion up first.
