This last week has been, by far, the greatest week of my entire life.

I would like to first point out my firm belief in karma. In the last week, I've seen more coincidences than I ever need to see to believe that there is a force out there that sticks to the "what goes around comes around" principle.

I got accepted to SIUC. The biggest news of the week. I sent in my application via the Internet about a week ago, then on Thursday I got a letter of acceptance. Based on my grades and my SAT scores (which was a 28, the average SIUC student has a 21.5) I was immediately accepted. The next step is to get admitted to the School of Music which means I have to go through an interview process simply to determine my level of musical skill and whether or not I qualify for any scholarships, and then I'm in. Simple as that.

Took a tour of the campus yesterday, and I'm ready to get up there. To get away from this place, to quit wasting my time here, and get the fuck up there. There's even a Taco Bell on campus that I could probably work at (crossed fingers!).

Finally got the word that I'm getting promoted at work. I filled out my authorization for a background check on Tuesday, and I'll start wearing the shirt and tie next week. They'll train me on the nightly paperwork and hopefully I'll be running my own shifts in two weeks. I'll do the closing paperwork three nights a week and then just do my usual dining room closing (which I'm doing now) twice a week. I can't wait to start running my own shifts again. I've missed it so much since Taco Bell. Plus, the increase in pay will be frickin' awesome!

My car insurance dropped dramatically on my 21st birthday. This month's payment is nearly $150 less than my usual monthly payment, and from then on it's $100 less. Great news since I've been penny pinching for the last few months.

Gonna be selling my iPod, because it's been aggravating the hell out of me since I bought it. Gonna buy a 30 GB Microsoft Zune. They look to be a whole lot nicer than the iPods, plus it's 30 GB vs. 4 GB. The iPod just can't hold enough for my tastes. I want to have more music in the palm of my hand at all times, dammit!

On top of that, this weeks just gone extremely smooth. I was sick most mornings and missed quite a bit of class, but it's all stuff I'll be able to easily make up. I'll be working my ass off at the college next week. I have a new Rec. Tech. project that'll need to be finished by the end of the week, I'll finally be performing the entirety of Maple Leaf Rag for Sainer and I'll be recording a piece for the choir. I'm also starting vocal and piano lessons with Andy Flynn to prepare me for the interview process at SIUC, which will probably be around late spring.

In girlfriend news, Tina and I are going very strong. The last week has just solidified to me why I'm with her and why I want to be with her. She's the most incredible woman I've ever spent any amount of time with. I know I can trust her and she knows she can trust me. We can do just about anything together, she helps me with my problems and I help her with hers, and most importantly, I can be myself around her. She loves me for who I am, not for some show I put on for people who don't know me.

And that's just this one week. This one incredible week. That finally climaxed last night.

Literally.

Yea.

:)
