Merry Christmas, dear LJ friends and watchers! :-)
This is my first entry using the amazing new mood set that Thorin gave me!

A ton of pictures, but mostly small ones.

This was a quick piece of gift art of a design that MBPanther had just created for somebody. I kinda ruined it with all the effects, though.

Then we have a forums calendar again, and the theme this year was "forums users in scenes from The Lion King". I thought of scenes that had many characters in them and quickly decided that I wanted to do the hyenas. Originally, I'd wanted to put myself down there but I already am in a couple of pictures. :) Painting the background from reference was a big learning experience.

Next one's just a little sketch of a lion who is part of Jarmaras background story. Still nameless but I got a couple of great suggestions. His face looks weird, but I just wanted to put that mane pattern down before I forgot it. He looks harmless and plain enough, but he's going to be the one who cunningly ursurps Jarmara's place in the pride. Flashy looks and breeding aren't all - a sharp wit is worth more. I'm still not sure how I should organize the structure of the pride. The white lions are considered special, but would it be a scandal for a tawny one to lead the pride? I don't think so, but then again, how's Jarmara's claim as the leading male justified? Bleh.

The next 24 are all Christmas surprises for friends and inspiring people. Turns out that 24 days aren't nearly enough to honor everyone who deserves it, but more than enough in terms of effort. Over time, I developed a "formula" to do these more quickly, but still it was a lot of work to keep the chain going. I'll just post them quickly here.
