I can't decide whether my Maternity class makes me really want to conceive a child, or to never, ever, ever conceive. On one hand, having a child seems like such a beautiful experience, and on the other, I see a 9 month physical torture and a life of stress and physical consequences to follow. I do know that I definitely appreciate the beauty and

And fetuses ARE gross...you're definitely not the only one who thinks so. :P

and i guess i'm different than you when it comes to having children...i really really want them, but of course when i'm married and everything. ideally, i'd like to have one of my own and adopt one...but that also depends on how my husband feels and if we have the money. i've been having pregnancy on my mind all the freaking time now, since one of my coworkers is having hers in late february or early march, and another coworker just found out she's pregnant. pregnancy kind of fascinates me, haha.

And I'm not saying I'd never consider conceiving and bearing a child... it's just something I think about a lot. Having a child of your own must be great and all, but there are a lot of children out there who need good homes, too. Idk. I always say I'll just cross that bridge when I get to it. There's no need to worry about children now because they will NOT be in my near future. Haha.

First off: You have a Maternity class?
That's just.. why?
Is it required, were you just curious, does it go with your major...?
It just seems like an odd class to have.
And I guess a fetus can be cute depending on how you look at it.
If you see it as a helpless being and the beginning of life,
it could be cute purely out of essence.
But physically, I agree. They look funny.

It's part of my Nursing degree. Each semester is planned out into learning about the nursing process for different areas of life and we do clinical rotations through different departments of the hospital. For example, last semester we had Nursing of Adults, levels 1 and 2, which was adult surgery patients, mostly. This semester we have Maternity/OB Nursing and Pediatric Nursing. Then Senior year is Mental Health Nursing and Critical Care Nursing in the first semester, and Community Health and Leadership Nursing the second. Make any sense? :D
More matured fetuses closer to term are cute, but an eight week old fetus barely even looks human, so it creeps me out. The eyes are on the sides of the head, they only have little stubs with webbed fingers and toes, and they just kind of float there. I don't know... it's just really weird to me. Haha.
