Russians are not all alcoholics but they do like to drink, and have developed an ability to absorb an unusually high amount of alcohol - it is said to be fairly normal to drink a bottle of vodka between three people. People who can drink without seeming to be drunk are well respected. Much business is done over a drink or two.
