While driving into work today I confirm that yes, the jeep does have a coolant leak, which was the steam I was seeing yesterday from under the hood. It appears to happen only when it initially warms up and hits that critical temperature in which the thermostat then kicks in, so not a lot, but it's one more thing wrong.
So, it is going this weekend. Period.
Just called up the local Jeep dealership to see what I needed to do to sell it to them, and was informed that they aren't interested in it. In fact, no major dealership will take it unless it's used as trade-in for a new purchase (it being over 10 years old and having over 100,000 miles). So now I'm trying to figure out what to do. There are a number of charities that I could donate it to, and I like the idea of Kars4Kids, but I'd rather get at least a small amount of money for it to help pay off the pending service fee for getting my scooter back up and working again.
Anyone have any ideas?
