Oniko

Got Oniko into the Honda dealership yesterday, on the understanding that they wouldn't be able to get to it until Monday or Tuesday at the earliest. Got a call today though saying that after a false start they did find out what the problem was.

Initial diagnosis was off since, appearantly, the mechanic assigned to the scooter had hopped on and it had driven fine, all the way up to 38mph. Going over the notes that I'd left once more he tore apart the transmission and discovered that the bike working for him was a complete fluke, as it shouldn't have. The actual problem was with the rear clutch assembly, which the folks at Total Ruckus had thought, but the damage is so extensive that I would never had been able to fix it myself even with all the new tools that I'd bought. So the plan is, tomorrow they will look into what is needed to perform a valve adjustment on the bike, which I have also asked for, and then put in a mass order for everything they need. If I'm lucky, the bike will be fixed by next weekend, otherwise it will be the week after that. As expected, the price tag of the work is going to be in the $400 to $500 range, but at least it will be done with.

Which is really good, as I just dropped $150 into the jeep, and it's starting to show signs that it's on it's last leg without some serious work being put into it, which I can't afford. Time to get rid of it.
