My, but we're having an unseasonably warm May. Bit disturbing, really. I've read the projections for global warming and even at their most conservative they're horrifying reading. Still, given how little I can do about it at this point, I figure I might as well enjoy the side-effects. I've started swimming in the sea again (have decided that my minimum temperature for doing this is 20 degrees, and Melbourne has been unusually obliging in this regard - usually things are cooling down a lot more by May), and have been relishing gadding about bare-legged once more.
My legs are safely encased in fabric today, but given the unseasonably balmy climes I decided to break out the white jeans. I've always secretly loved white jeans, impractical though they are, and this outfit has been so long in the plotting that I figured I might as well post it for Clayvember.
Despite the warm weather, the morning light in late autumn is as dim as ever, making the morning outfit mirror selfie a dim and blurry business. Still, you can see the basic idea, I hope: white skinny jeans, teal tunic, cheery mixed jewel colours pashmina, nude wedges.
What you can't see are my earrings, which are an example of my personalised mix-'n'-match collection, viz. slim medium hoops (one pair gold, one pair silver) on which I hang things that coordinate with my outfit.
The hot pink glass dangles on today's hoops came from a pair of earrings my mother bought me just after I had my ears pierced, aged 12-13 or so. There were fairly uninspired - gold stud with this hanging on it - but removed and hung on a hoop they look quite natty, I feel (natty, now there's a word. Feels vaguely mid-twentieth century - might look it up later).
Was pleased with yesterday's outfit as well, though it hasn't come out very well in the Mirror Selfie of Autumn Morning Gloom. I suppose I could lighten it up, but I have to nip off in a few minutes, so Gloom it'll have to be. You can't see it very well, but I'm wearing my rather lovely cool colours pretend pebble necklace, and have tan suede cowboy boots under the maxi dress.
Right. On that note, I'm out the door.
