Title: Tossed To The Floor
Fandom: So Weird
Four uneven pieces tossed to the floor and stepped on is where she found the photo. She was late coming home from the studio, even after fourteen takes of what was to be their next single none of them took. Tired, burned out and hungry it was decided just to head back to their homes. With a bag of grocery in hand filled with milk, bread and two cans on chicken noodle soup for Annie who was still fighting the flu after a week Molly stepped into the kitchen. At first she hadn't noticed the picture and perhaps she was the one that stepped on it. It was when she was leaving the room to head upstairs for a shower, to watch dome TV just some Molly time before becoming a mother and surrogate mother, she leaned down and picked up the pieces. A photograph of herself and Rick taken three moths after their wedding during their trip to Mexico. Why would this be here? Why would someone do this? She thinks while feeling sad over the destruction of something so sacred to her. From outside the kitchen doors she hears Jack sitting on the couch and turning in the television, she pushes open the singing door to see him.
"Jack honey do you know who did this?" Molly asks holding the four pieces up.
"Yeah I did." Answered without looking up flipping through the channels.
"Why would you do this? What in the world possessed you?"
"I thought I would make it easier for you. I's obvious that you are well over dad and the memory of everything he has been to you, so I decided to help release you." She stands there confused, trying to understand.
"Jack what are you talking about?"
"Carey. I saw you with Carey the other day." Then she understood. Knowing it wasn't the best time to explain not even sure if should at all Molly steps back into the kitchen. It happened four nights ago after another studio session that went past the scheduled time. He had given her a ride since her car was in the garage getting a check up that ended up costing 300 dollars. And without warning he had kissed her nd to her equal surprise she kissed him back. A secret and forbidden crush was fulfilled than, for both of them. Neither talked about, neither tried to think about it. Now looking at the photograph torn in her hand and Jack in the living room she wonders if they should.
