Life with Cats
Our lives have changed quite a fair bit since Puffin and Lemon moved in with us.
At first, it was just Puffin and we had to manage his overpowering affections (hah!). Puffin is quite affectionate. He waits outside our bedroom door every morning and rushes in the moment we open the door. He'll then "fall" to the floor, asking for pats and rubs. He is not as vocal nowadays (after Lemon came), but he still rushes to meet us when we reach home. We can expect a cat waiting right behind the main door when we reach home, every day!
Max commented that Puffin gallops like a horse towards us sometimes, haha. Which i totally agree. It's kind of scary sometimes! When we try to sneak from him to hide in our room, he'll come galloping after us and we have to heartlessly shut the door in his face.
As for Lemon... he is a cat we are fostering at the moment, while his caregiver looks for an adopter. We really hope he can find a good home, preferably with someone who is experienced with handling timid/skittish cats. We are lacking in experience and finding it tough to foster him even right now... but we have promised to foster till August. I feel sad to see Lemon hiding behind the fridge when he's scared, although now he does it less often. He even dares to rub against our legs now! (Along with playful bites and scratches........)
Anyway, we are really glad that the cats are with us, especially Puffin. It has certainly changed our lives (yes we do housework doubly hard now!) in many ways. We wake up early every day just to feed them and play with them. We don't sleep in on weekends anymore, which is good cuz we used to waste so much time sleeping. We laugh at Puffin's antics and look forward to seeing him each day. He brings us so much joy!
