How on earth do you plan to stick to this? It sounds way too strict to be sustainable ... but good job me being a cheerleader, right?

Coffee is delicious without half and half and sugar!

I know you can do it! It will be tough, but I know you can. Good luck! ^_^

my mother was just diagnosed with diabetes this summer, and is vegetarian, which made this diet all but impossible. she is having much better luck with the diet proscribed by this doctor: http://search.barnesandnoble.com/Dr-Neal-Barnards-Program-for-Reversing-Diabetes/Neal-D-Barnard/e/9781594868108/?itm=1

her blood sugar numbers have been good, and she's been losing weight.

best of luck!

best of luck getting to where you want to be - i know the struggle it can be. i hope that you can sustain yourself. remember the good ol' other half to the losing weight thing is exercise.

*hugs* much love to you and the family for the new year!

My dad did a diet something like that, when he was diagnosed with "borderline diabetes." He considers that is healed his pancreas and other organs such that he does not have any of the precurser symptoms that he did have. His dad was/is a diabetic, so he worried from a young age....

He has noticed, also, through muscle testing (natural medicine thing) that raw sugar does not affect his body at all, but white or even other refined sugars (such as brown sugar, which you might think is more healthy) saps his strength to the extent that he can't even use his arm during the testing. Interesting things to think about....

(I think what I meant to say there is that sometimes after a disciplined diet, one can go back to a moderated version of the "before" lifestyle, and also that things like desserts can be made with raw, unprocessed sugar from a health food store, and have a far different effect on one's body and organs.)

But I'm just a health nerd. Don't mind me if I become obnoxious (!) :P
