So I went to the doctor on Monday, for my regular yearly physical, and was told that if I don't lose weight and bring down my cholesterol, I will end up insulin resistant, and eventually become diabetic. I DON'T WANT THAT.
So. My new diet consists of protein from nuts, eggs, and tofu, and no starch. I can't have potatoes, bread, or rice, and have to severely limit legumes and grains. Yes, even whole grains, and even though beans are high protein. I can't have anything high in cholesterol, such as most cheese. No sugar. I basically eat nuts, fruit, and veggies every day. I have some eggs boiling on the stove. This is the most sucky diet ever, but I figure I should drop some poundage pretty quick. At least, that's my hope. But damn. We still have Christmas cookies that need noshing. I knew I should have scarfed them before that fateful appointment...
Oh. And I'm dropping coffee. So pardon me if I'm pretty cranky. But really, what's the point of coffee without half and half and sugar???
