I've been in Vegas since the 29th of July (1:30 a.m.). It is so different here. It's super hot (like oven, dry heat hot). There isn't much greenery just sand, rocks, and sad little trees/cactus. My first plane ride as an adult was pretty awesome. No troubles really. A few delays, but nothing major or worth complaining about. I didn't get stuck between fat people either. Yay.
I gambled for Joe and my dad. They both won $20 on red but lost it on black 13 (which is what they both gave me $20 to do). I played some black jack, lost it, won it back, and then quit. Haha. I don't like the idea of gambling. I don't have the moeny (even if it's only $20) to be doing that junk. It's interesting to watch the different types of people from different countries though. It's hard to find Americans here, haha.
Patrick has been wonderful. He took me to the Grand Canyon and Flagstaff, Arizona. We've been on the strip several times. His roommate Brian took me to hike in Red Rock (that's no freakin' joke). I've gotten a lot of sight seeing done. I could never live here though. Too much traffic, no pretty scenery, too hot, and too much ugh. It's a neat place to visit, but that's about it. I haven't bothered drinking like everyone assumes I would since I'm in good old Vegas. It's not my style.
All the casinos are crammed with stores, food, gambling, and beautifully themed decorations. I really like the Bellagio, Caesar's Pallace, the Pallazzo, Mandalay Bay, and the Luxor...in that order. Hehe.
Vegas rocks for the most part. I've never been into an ALL Hurley or ALL Volcom store before. Do they have those in NC and I just don't know it? Well, they have them everywhere here. I got some new Hurley shorts, Hurley and Volcom shirts, and a sweet new Volcom belt buckle. Rockin'. I have yet to find a Vegas shirt I like. Hurley had one that was pretty awesome, but it was for men only (too big on me).
I come home Wednesday morning (leave here on a redeye Tuesday night). I'm excited to see my mutt and ferret not to mention BIRTHDAY SANDY and awesome Dawn. I miss everyone back home. I got Sandy's present almost done. I ordered some of it, and today I'm working on the rest. It won't be to her on time (obviously, because today is her birthday), but oh well. I hope she likes it.
The yearbook workshop with Heather, Gannon, and Becca is coming up on August 10. We get to hit up Atlantic Beach! Wooo hoooo! I'm so pumped to spend time with these girls, work on the yearbook, get focused, and be at the beach. Woooo!
I'm hungry. Patrick had to go do some Army work because he got called in. He's been off the entire time I've been here, so it's okay. He left me his truck and took his BMW. I haven't driven in Vegas at all, so I'm scared to attempt it in a stick shift truck I have never even driven before. We'll see if I venture out or not. For now, it's time to work on Sandy's birthday present some more.
