3 new surgeries: lacy stuff and ninjatoshiba's flannel thing

Jul 09, 2008 02:01

Here are my new surgeries. They are kind of unusual for me, because it's not my style at all and I don't even know, why I started to sew all this lacy girly stuff. It's so not me!

The first one is a combination of a grey stripy t-shirt (L) and a huge grey men's shirt (XL, I guess)
BEFORE

The result is cute, but uncomfortable off shoulder shirt. It's impossible even to rise an arm in it - I need to pull collar down all the time. So I'll keep it for special occasions, when all I'll need would be to sit still, smile and wave.

My grandpa's old shirt.

When people started to post here ninjatoshiba's flannel things, I bravely tried to resist its cuteness. I didn't want to be like others, I always wanted to stand out against a background))) But I just can't do that any longer, damn ninjatoshiba, it's SO CUTE, aaargh!

AFTER

It differs from oldschool ninjatoshiba's flannel thing: it has only one strap and as I don't have big buttons, I made flowers instead.

BEFORE

It was XL t-shirt with snoopies. I used to sleep in it. The shirt was lovely, but really worn out so made a skirt from it.
AFTER

I guess that's called bubba skirt. In Russian we call such shape of skirts or dresses "ballon". My dad calls it a "parachute skirt"))) I used iron-on interfacing for the skirt's bottom to make it stiffy.

I know I look weird in this outfit but I tried to make it look like Japanese style decora . It's my firt attempt in decora and obviously I have lots of things to polish up. I NEVER thought I'd be fascinated by this kind of fashion)))
