TORCHWOOD~

OMG HOW FUCKING AMAZING WAS THAT.

I seriously do need an RTD shrine or something. I SAID HE WAS GOING TO SAVE THE SHOW, DIDN'T I? I try not to be too biased about the stuff he writes, but fucking hell, how can I not be biased when he keeps delivering?

- Gwen: was awesome. I have always been ambiguous about her character, because I really like the idea of her--competent career woman with the stay-at-home boyfriend who doesn't mind being the stay-at-home boyfriend--but I disliked the way the writing in many of the s1 and s2 episodes turned her less into a competent career woman and more into a ruthless, disingenuous asshole. Well, RTD made her up, and RTD quite apparently knows how to handle her. She was funny, likable, competent, and credible in this episode without turning into some kind of Wonder Woman I-am-a-strong-and-flawless-female-character feminist lip-service symbol.

- Jack: was bearable. That's saying a lot. Because, you know, I am really not fond of Jack, and even less of Barrowman's acting. But he was Jack, and he did what Jack usually does--which is trying to look really important and actually not doing much of anything--and there were no put-upon lines that sounded put-upon by the writer instead of the character. So, all in all, Jack was alright, too. I adored the thing about the daughter. Because seriously, Jack Harkness lived on Earth for a whole century and didn't produce any kids? Yeah, no. Not likely.

- Ianto: OMG ASKDJASD. I loved Ianto. Omg so much love for Ianto. I am incoherent, but. Well. I always liked him, but the show never realized his potential. Well, RTD did now. And aah <3 Ianto. He is so totally the mini-Doctor of the Torchwood team. And hates Jack for making him fall in love with him. Well, I know that character trait from somewhere. >_> ALSO HE LOST THE TORCHWOOD MOBILE. Lol Ianto. Fail.

AND RHYS WAS AS AWESOME AS ALWAYS. THERE IS NOTHING THAT ISN'T AWESOME ABOUT RHYS OK. AND HE'S GONNA BE A DAD. HE IS GONNA BE THE MOST AWESOME DAD IN THE HISTORY OF DADS.

And lol, the plot. SO X-FILES. I was so totally waiting for someone to go, "the truth is out there!" They even have a shadow government and everything. :3 That's another thing I loved; the whole the government trying to put Torchwood in their place. Because outside the government, beyond the police? Yeah, not really. Governments don't like that kind of thing.

One thing I do have to nag, and that's that I really didn't like the directing. It felt amateur-ish. Idk, just not my kind of style, I guess.

Aah, I am so behind with comments! I will catch up, I promise~
