Well, Minna and I have been out, touring the neighborhood. There's all sorts of neat stuff in a short distance from us (and living a few blocks from an Apple Store is convenient when I feel the overwhelming urge to go fondle an iPhone). We're mostly moved in. We actually finished the bulk of the schlepping by about 3PM or so. This included moving the cats- who completely lost their shit in the car. Sort of literally- those who have seen Rochester in the car are familiar with how large his bladder is ( Read more... )

We're moving today. I haven't mentioned it much because it's not a move into any place permanent- we're still looking for property to own. Our sublet ended on the 31st, so we needed something a bit more permanent. This move promises to be both the easiest and the hardest move ever ( Read more... )

The octopus did not reanimate during cooking. Turned out fairly well- I managed to get the texture right, but since it was already marinated, I probably shouldn't have used quite so much vinegar when I simmered it. We've finally finished the move- Internet has been set up. Aside from Comcast being a bit of a pain in the ass about handing out IPs, it went fairly smoothly. We also have cable TV in addition to cable Internet- because it's cheaper to get both ( Read more... )

I'm going to do my best to start using photos more. I have a camera phone, and I should really start using it. I need to find a way to end photos to my lappy as a batch- maybe using the datacable instead of bluetooth. We've arrived, safe and sound. The cats didn't suffer too much. We, on the other hand, suffered greatly. We're hot, tired, and spending the first night in our sublet- which is alternate turns crappy/okay, depending on what specifically you're looking at. It's a standard junky college-kid apartment.
