applesauce

So I'm back in Olin running people for Mija's study. Aka sitting around and doing nothing with occassional breaks when a student comes in. Except that right when I was about to start writing this entry, 5 people came in right in a row. So there was a flurry of passing out papers, sending people to their little rooms to read, and trying to keep track of everyone all at once. But that's done now, at least until they all finish reading their stories at the same time and it happens all over again. There were only three people total signed up to come between 7 and 9 tonight. Where did they all come from?

But anyway. That is rather unimportant.

I'm feeling rather 'Little House on the Prairie' tonight. Actually, that's not entirely true; really I'm just very excited about apples and all the thing I can make with them. (You may now laugh at how much of a dork I am.) I went apple picking with my housemates over the weekend, and we got a ton of apples, and they're quite good. My mission for the week has been to eat as many of them in as many forms as I can. So far there's been apple crips, applesauce, apple pie, apples and honey (for Roshashana), and of course, just grabbing one on the go. I really like making applesauce. Well, I really like homemade applesauce, and it's surprisingly easy to do. I made my second batch tonight. It turned out so amazingly delicious! Think the best applesauce you've ever had, and all I had to do was add a bit of cinnamon. I might have to make lots more and freeze it for later in the year. Mmmmm... applesauce.
