(no subject)
Not much new going on in my life, but I have some time to kill and haven't written anything in a while. So I thought I'd let you all know that I have not, in fact, fallen off the face of the earth. Just into the black hole that is DC. ;) I have four weeks left here, which is both good and bad for various reasons. I do kind of like living in the city, but it gets pretty lonely sometimes. I think I will be entirely museumed out by the end of the summer.
I did, however, come across this highly entertaining and really somewhat amazing website. You should check it out, seriously.
Also, I absolutely adore bell hooks. She's amazing, and such a good writer. I found a book of her's (Talking Back: Thinking Feminist, Thinking Black, if anyone's interested) in the Feminist Majority's library, and it got me inspired again about feminist movement. Cuz the inspiration had kind of been lacking - drowned out by the day-to-day of a functioning office, I guess.
It's also got me thinking about what I want to do my Women's and Gender Studies comps on. I actually have a couple vague ideas of topics. Not sure exactly what I would do on the topics, but at least I have a couple directions to pursue. Assuming the whole double major thing works out. Well, no use worrying about that for another couple months.
