This is my statement on my future involvement in the House Fandom, because everybody else is doing it because I think it's high time I let the House people on my f-list know what the deal is.
I really am too old to sleep on other peoples floors, without a sleeping bag. (well, my own fault for forgetting to take it along) Anyway. I'm out for tonight.
Wouldn´t that be superficial, if somebody just still be friend to you because the House-fandom? I mean everybody who saw, watched or observed your postings / entries and friended you should like you as the wonderful and creative person who you are, right? So, even if you want to say goodbye to the House-fandom completly I would really love it to still be your friend further. I mean, I met you in House fandom and I´m glad that House-fandom exist so I was able to met you and a few other wonderful persons. If I´ve got finished DueSouth (if Seppel will work with me and let me use his DVD-drive again (sometimes it works / sometimes it doesn´t) I´ll watch Dr. Who and than you will get my stupid, insane and wrong comments for your Dr.Who postings too. oh hm, maybe I shouldn´t threat you with that? ;-))
Well, you know, there's the difference between friend in the RL sense and the LJ sense of the word.
You can make friends in the RL sense of the word on LJ, of course, and those will keep you on their f-list no matter which fandom you're in atm. But then there's also those LJ friends who only put you on their list because they like reading what you have to say about the show, or because they're interested in your fanfic - not necessarily in your person, though. And that's completely okay, that's how LJ works. It was mostly for those people that I said that if they want to defriend me, there won't be any hard feelings :) (not that there are that many. My fannish opinions aren't THAT compelling, lol xD).
I'm very much looking forward to your opinions on Who! I'm sure you'll love it. Who wouldn't? It's made of 100% awesomesauce :D.
Yeah I know the difference. In my case it is a fact that I´m also want to know what somebody has to say about other things (and the show of course). And the posting are mostly not that long (sometimes I even read short fics about an unknown show but not that often), so you can read postings (not the fics) even if they are not about the favorite show. *lol* Did I mentioned that I´m an owner of just one braincell????
It's a testament to how much I like the way you think and enjoy your LJ that I am stubbrnly refusing to defriend you, despite the fact that I hate Doctor Who. Shine on, you crazy diamond!
Lol noo. I'm tolerant and all, right? xD But seriously, what do you hate about Doctor Who? It's really brilliant television. The only thing I could think of why you might not like it is that you're generally not too much into scifi. Is it that?
Your last sentence. It sounds like a line from a song. xD \o/
Oh, I don't want to upset you. So I'll just condense it down and say I think it's an over-acted, lazily written, poorly produced, dully plotted, mind-numbingly uninvolving piece of TV-lite, typical of superficial, cheesy BBC ratings-grabbers, and unworthy of serious consideration. Phew. Glad to get that off my chest.
And I just don't like sci-fi anyway.
Please can we still be friends? ;D
Shine On, You Crazy Diamond is apparently a Pink Floyd song. I wondered where it came from. I think I heard it on The Simpsons :D
over-acted Yeah. I give you that. But that's sci-fi. That's how it works.
lazily written, dully plotted Either you had really bad luck concerning which episodes you saw, or you've never watched it. Because compared to House, Doctor Who writing and plotting is more than brilliant. And that's my objective opinion, since I don't mind fangirling a show that's badly written (i. e. House or even SPN, lol xD). You should watch Blink one of these days.
poorly produced You are only talking about New Who, are you? Because saying that a show that's been running since 1963 was poorly produced from the first minute till the last, that's a bit... generalizing? Yeah, I guess.
I guess it really comes down to not liking sci-fi. Because if you don't like sci-fi, I can see how you would hate Doctor Who.
If you do like sci-fi, though, you can't really get past it. It is a mile stone in that genre.
Please can we still be friends?Hmm, I'm thinking about it. I guess yeah, as long as you admit that it's your general aversion to sci-fi that makes you

i totally understand. i left house fandom months ago.i have like two comms on my flist that i check ocassionally. but it's really not worth the trouble.
ive liked s4, much more than s3. i like 13. i wasnt sure i was going to watch s4 but i enjoyed the premiere so ive kept watching
I hated 13, lol xD. I liked CTB, and I like the little guy who electrocuted himself. The one who stayed. Kutner? Something like that. I suck at names.
What I didn't like about s4 so far is that there's no character development. They keep introducing new characters and discarding them again, and they're not working with the characters they've got. Wilson is being completely ignored. I love House for the characters of House and Wilson and Cuddy; I don't care much about the rest. If they're going to continue to ignore those three, my interest will wane even more.

I'll continue watching it. But if they fuck up the rest of the season like they fucked up the first part, then I don't know if I'll be watching s5.
