Usually they harness you up and suspend you above the device with the point shoved somewhere painful for hours or days. And wouldn't even kill that way. At worst it would just kinda split you open if infection or sepsis didn't get you first.
If you're gonna have like half a chapter dedicated to Wikipedia dumping on torture devices, do your homework.
