Reminds me of Jay Naylor's female characters, particularly in the one Better Days arc which pits the main character's mother, Sheila, against his teacher (the kid's in elementary school). Sheila is pretty much a hot mom who, at the beginning of the comic's run, was a total floozy. Every time she showed up, she was on her way off to "entertain" various male friends (and given that she was supporting two children by herself and seemed to have no other job, that led to some...interesting implications).

Anyway, there's a big deal made of Sheila going off to the conference and being all dolled up. Keep in mind that the teacher, in comparison, is drawn as being very plain and with the most pinched, snooty expression you could imagine. The teacher very obviously does not look well upon Sheila being tastefully dressed up and towards the end of the conference makes a comment about how little boys must be "tempered appropriately" so that women "don't go through life depending on their backsides". This lead Sheila to get VERY pissed and snap that it's none of the teacher's concern how she lives her life and if she wants to have a sex life or date men, it's no one's business but her own.

For the life of me, I have no idea what the moral of that thing was supposed to be. I could understand Sheila's point and I could understand if the point was that women can live their own lives and enjoy sex on their own. Except that the teacher had a point, seeing as Sheila's daughter nearly DIED because the mother was off having sex. Also, Sheila claimed, apparently with no irony at all, to not know who Susan B. Anthony was, even though she was established to be a pretty intelligent person.

Anyway, I ended up getting the distinct impression that Naylor doesn't like feminists for daring to spread the idea that women shouldn't dress sexily and fanservicey for the pleasure of others. I strongly suspect that's Neil's point too. Female liberation is fine, so long as it's channeled towards looking hot for male appreciation.

*glances up* Huh, that story went longer than I intended. Sorry! ^^;
