People stealing things is so NOT COOL

So I was at work (BN) the other day and this guy is lurking around the DVDs like he is planning to attack someone. I go "you need help with anything?" and he says "NO!" okay, dude, chill!

I continue the boring task of organizing the Audio Books and hear the sound if a price tag being ripped off a DVD somewhere (those things make noise, man!) I look and see with my own eyes the crazy guy trying to smooth out the price tag...busted.

So, instead of confronting him right then, I pretend I know nothing so he thinks he got away with it. He lurks for a few more minutes and apparently decides the coast is clear and makes a run for it. We have these alarm things the go friggin crazy when something leaves the department without being paid for, and he pretends to ignore them. There are like five other customers staring at him when he says "oh thats me? wudido?"

I go "you have to pay for them before you leave, sir" and he goes "but I don't wanna, I have other things I want to buy up front" and I say "no deal, we have to ring the DVDs back here." BUSTED! So he gives them to me and I notice right away that the tag on one of them is wrong. I say "this is the wrong price tag on here, sir. this DVD is $20, not $10." And then he actually says to me "well you have to give it to me at that price because that is what is on it and it is illegal for you to have the wrong prices on the DVDs and it is bait and switch if you don't give it to me for $10!"

And you know what I said... I said "That only works when the person trying to buy the DVD doesn't switch the tags to make their DVD a lesser price. When that happens, it's called stealing." Then he got mad at me!! Really...he got furious with me that I was accusing him of stealing. I said "I saw you with my own eyes, sir. You ripped the tag off of the copy of Gilligan's Island you are trying to steal and replaced it with a tag from Run, Lola, Run. So it will be $21.19 today."

Then he stalked off, mumbling something like "never again! the service you get here! I can't believe..."

So...yeah...people suck.
