Band concert and awesomeness

So today was a very good day. First, after school I stayed after for a couple of hours to help at drama rehearsal (I'm doing stage crew, but this was the first rehearsal I was able to attend more than the last ten minutes of). We cleaned up the prop room and brought a bunch of wooden stuff in from another room that was a room that belonged to us, but now the neask (however you spell it, accreditation people) people need it for an office... what a horrible room for an office.

Anyway, that was kinda fun, hanging with Emily, Marianne, CJ, Josh and other drama people. I felt a bit like an outsider at first even though I've always supported the drama program, am friends with most of the drama geeks, and have been to rehearsals and have helped clean up after shows and stuff (which leads to another story for another time), but while I was working I of course soon felt like I belonged, at least mostly. Of course doing that type of work always makes me feel a little useless, my sister's positive support gives me that kind of esteem.

Then tonight was the band concert. Which was freaking awesome. Concert band did well for the most part. Gettysburg was awful, especially on drums, but the other songs didn't have any huge mistakes. Then jazz band was freaking amazing. It proved I get much more nervous in rehearsals than at actual performances. "Satin Doll" was a joy to play. It was great, a lot of fun. My friends made fun of how I was moving and grooving later though. Then "Embraceable You" was pretty good too. I played both songs better than usual. Then Joe played on the last song. It went really well and was a lot of fun.

After I went to Gregg's with Kelly, TAJTO, Brittney and Erin. This was also fun. I realized how it can be much more fun to go out to eat in small groups as opposed to large groups. While I had fun, I regret choosing to go out with a larger group of friends instead of with Kelly, Joe, Hannah, and Mike after the Winter Ball. It's just more fun when you can actually have a conversation with everyone at the table.

I'm mostly just excited at how great the concert was though.
