It's been a while (and I'm finally home.)

So, I haven't updated in a long while. Since September to be precise. It's been a busy but blissful few months, as I've seemed to have met the love of my life. Most everyone knows about Joe already, so I don't ned to get into the details of how we met. I am so happy, so, very, very happy. Just typing that makes my eyes get all misty. It's been a while since I've felt so at peace with myself.

Since graduating in late August, I've begun building my clientele at the massage office and things have been going wonderfully. I have a few regular clients, and paired with walk-ins and spa parties, I have to say that I haven't been hurting. Massage therapy is the last career I'm going to have, I think...aside from "Business Owner" in the future. I have plans to begin saving for retirement and along with my accountant, I will also have "investment guy" who will help me to build my good fortune. All I need to do is save $500 and I'll be well on my way. Things for me are looking up.

Halloween was a blast, although not many came to the bash, we had a killer time, and all my hard work payed off for the hordes of trick-or treaters who came by in awe of our haunted house. I had a mother come up to me and say, "My daughter has said all week that she's wanted to come to the 'scary house,' she passes it every day on the school bus." That made me so happy, along with the few tiny ones who couldn't make it up the driveway due to weak knees. Halloween, in my opinion brings the neighborhood together, it's the only day we really all co-mingle with one another, and it helps to create memories and traditions. This year for me, was so well worth it.

On Thanksgiving, Joe came to spend it with us and the rest of my family. Which, due to his culinary training made the feast ever more so glorious. He came up with the recipe, and like a good sous chef, I did the dirty work. My first turkey, and deviation from the traditional "beer basted" turkey, was a total hit. (I highly suggest brining.) I forsee many more great Thanksgivings now that I actually liked eating turkey. (!) We also woke up to our first great snow of 2007, I have to say, that made the day all the more magical. Way to go weather!

So, Christmas is coming. My family has a gift exchange set up this year, which is new also. It seems since I've met Joe, life has been running like a well-oiled machine. We'll have Joe here for Christmas as well since his family lives in South Dakota and holiday travel is not only expensive, but dangerous because of ice. It's not entirely worth it to go out for the holidays since you can't do much visiting when there's THAT much snow on the ground. My family is so happy to have him. He's the first boyfriend I've had in ages that my parents, and whole family, for that matter have actually liked. I don't even have to ask them, 'Hey, what do you think?' they just say it...and they love him.

In these three short months, Joe has become part of the family, and I can't imagine my life without him in it. Right now, we're picking out apartments in Lansing to visit in the New Year, as we'll be moving in together in August. (I know!) I'm very excited about living with Joe, our future is bright.

I'm not quite sure what New Years Eve holds as far as plans go...I think my parents will be going to Tennessee for New Years, so, it's up in the air. I may throw a party here. Who knows?

This Spring, Joe and I will be venturing out to South Dakota, for a much needed visit home. I'm tagging along to meet his family and go on the "Joe's Life tour," which I'm thrilled about. From all the pictures I've seen, it looks like a beautiful piece of the country, and I'll be sure to come back with pictures of my own.

So, I suppose, that's it in a nutshell. Busy, but, so, so wonderful.

If it's another long while before I update, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year, all!
