Lasts time I posted, Daniel was going for an interview the next day. He got the job. He is working for Shelburn Roasting Company, driving, baking, and sometimes pulling barista shifts. It makes decent money, although its not quite full time. He's keeping his job at the theater too, so now our finances have a modicum of stability, and as the money comes in, I'm a lot less stressed out.
India is finally coming along. Financial Aid was 3 weeks late in coming out, and then my package was low. But I spoke with them again today, and I'm getting an increase. I still need additional funding. Hopefully SIT will give me a scholarship, and loan applications are about to get filled out. Its still a scary shitload of money, but its getting better. And its motivating me to chant with more focus, more determination, and more fighting spirit...
Buddhism has really been helping me this summer. When I've wanted to just curl up in a ball or escape into video games, I am still connected to SGI - to meetings, to responsibilities, to making our Rock the Era Youth Festival happen. And members, especially a handful of Women's Division have been right there to encourage me and help me make causes that move my life forward. I'm going to be attending Rock the Era in Philadelphia on July 25th as a Taiko drummer. Daniel is doing Soka group. The plan is to have 10k youth attend. It's a once in a lifetime type of opportunity, and I'm psyched.
Well, time for some phonecalls and cleaning.
Oh yeah, got my haircut. Someone take my new facebook photos and lj-icon me?
