The Mars InSight Lander landed successfully on Mars yesterday after a trip of 300 miles to Mars.

No, it's a lot farther to Mars - more like 300 million miles. (Um, space is like, really, really big.)

Also heard tonight:

"... Britain's intelligence agency 'M-16'...." - no, it's "MI-6". Oops.

Andrew Mishkin's blog about the Mars rover. He's on the team that works through the Martian night building command sequences for the rover to execute the next day. He was also part of the team that built and drove Sojourner on Mars in 1997. (Another goodie from MemeStreams.)
