It's raining today. I took Metro.
I don't know what I changed in my Firefox blocking, but the buseta.wmata.com tracking service wasn't working. Eventually I tried a different browser, and found the next bus was due in 4 minutes.
The driver gave me the most dismissive look imaginable when I got on the bus - as if he didn't realize that his passengers - his fare-paying passengers - are why he has a job. It's not like I was any kind of inconvenience to him. The light was red at the corner, so he had to stop anyway.
Maybe I didn't look wet enough for him. I was waiting less than a minute. With a 4-minute lead, I had to put on my shoes, grab my bag, and get out the door.
Short waits for both trains, too, so this was one of my shortest trips in. It probably won't be raining when I go home.
If Google bothers to remember where I want to go, why doesn't it remember how I want to get there? (Either Google or, more likely) Chrome remembers a Google-maps web page with my work and home addresses, but it's showing me drive routes and projected times. 95%+ of the time I'd be biking, not driving. And the times I'd be checking those specific points on Google maps I'd be looking for METRO scheduling. (It can vary a great deal, so I time my departure from work to minimize my standing around waiting.)
